First time in the ocean!

We went camping this weekend at Cape Henlopen in Delaware. It was an interesting experience! First off, Mae loved the ocean! We knew she'd love the sand, but weren't sure if she would be into the water and waves ... but she was! She loved chasing the waves and jumping the waves ... and kept walking out further and further! She certainly didn't show any fear (which is a good and bad thing ...) and wanted to stay in long after her little feet & legs were red from the cold water. We had to drag her out of the water to play in the sand.

Camping was fun but really really windy. We did something we've never done before - give up on the tent halfway through the night and sleep in the car! The fly on our tent acted like a sail and kept catching the wind. It was so loud we couldn't sleep. Let me rephrase that - the adults couldn't sleep .... Mae slept like a rock! No matter what the weather, we had a great time together this weekend!

Here's a video of Mae playing in the water with Jeb:

Cutie Pie

Here's Mae peeking out of her toy chest! Here's our kitty ... about time he got a photo on our site!
Here's a photo of Mae and her Mommy just goofing around.
Mae is starting to really love reading books .... her attention span is getting long enough to let us actually FINISH the books!
Mae got a cool shirt from her Awesome Army Aunt!

Just the three of us

We went camping this weekend - just the three of us plus Rhodie. It rained all Sat night, but other than that we had a great time!
Here's Mae on the slide (I know her eyes are shut but other than that it's a great photo):

I Love Lucy

Here is our little 50's housewife in her dress and apron:

And for a bonus ... we had our gazebo sitting in our yard over Mae's pool (guess what? It wasn't staked down). Anyways, a huge storm came through and our gazebo blew across the streeet and landed in our neighbor's yard! Luckily it has maybe 1" diameter burn hole from friction when sliding across the street but that's it! Phew!

Rollin' down the river

This weekend we had an awesome time boating with Dave, Angie & Owen! They have a wicked cool boat and all the toys to go with it!
Here I am embarking on the world of wakeboarding ... Meanwhile Jeb & Mae watch from the boat ...
And finally I get up! Yay!
Mae LOVED swimming in the river. She was so happy playing on the platform at the back of the boat and jumping into our arms - she loved it loved it loved it!

Here we are chilling with our tired babes.

Jeb got to try the air chair out - he was super fast at learning how to do it!
Look at him go!
Then to cap off the excitement of the day the kids popped the boat's throttle out of neutral but we didn't notice it and thought the boat was dead and needed a tow .... we figured out the problem about 1/4 mile from the dock. Whoopsies!
And then to really put the icing on the cake a tire blew on their trailer driving home!

Family Reunion

This past weekend we went out to Nebraska for a family reunion. It was awesome! We got to spend time with all of Jeb's siblings and their families, Jeb's parents and grandma and grandpa and part of Jeb's father's sister's family (got that?)! We had such a wonderful time... it's really sad that we live so far away from them all.

I was not the official photographer of the weekend, so I only took a few photos here and there. But, here are some of the better ones I took (hopefully we can post some better photos later after Jeri and Julie share theirs).

A family pic:
Grandpa R. with his five beautiful great-granddaughters. JJ is the most-sweet, most-adorable baby - look at how she poses for this picture!
Four-generations photo with Jeb, his dad, and his dad's mom. Mae was DEFINITELY ready for bed at this point in the night ...
Aunt Jeri and Uncle Eric with a pouty-Mae:
Ha!
The boys chugging wine and busting out their guns :)
We took a tractor ride through an orchard ...
Somehow Julie (aka Super Mom) not only held but also entertained both JJ and Mae for most of the ride - she is a wonder woman!
Our beautiful niece Ella in a hammock!
And Jolie-who-is-growing-up-too-fast in her own little nest!
